Mindset & Action: Grow and Streamline Your Business
Turning Illness into Insights on Productivity | EP236
Battling a cold and losing my voice couldn't keep me from connecting with you all this week. Imagine missing your first upload ever—how would you handle it? In this brief episode, I share the unexpected challenges and the crucial role preparation and batching play in maintaining consistency, even when life throws you a curveball. My recent experience with illness has underscored just how vital these practices are, and I want to pass that wisdom on to you.
Exciting news for next week! We'll host Sarah Gemmell, an expert in leveraging your network to grow your audience. Our conversation was incredibly insightful, and if you're passionate about networking, this is an episode you won't want to miss. Plus, I'm thrilled to announce that on the 18th of June, Diane Watson, author of "She Can Prosper," will be speaking at our Businesswomen Unltd Online networking event. Mark your calendars and get ready to put Sarah’s expert tips into action. Thanks for your understanding and continued support—here’s to a healthier, more productive week ahead!

Until next week, Bye for Now XoX
You're listening to the Mindset in Action podcast, the place to be to grow and streamline your business. I'm your host, donna Eade. Let's jump into the show. By failing to prepare, you're preparing to fail, benjamin Franklin. Well, welcome back to the podcast.
Speaker 1:Everybody, this is going to be a very short episode and that is because preparing is so important, planning is so important, batching is so important. You may well be able to hear that my voice is not as it should be and I don't know how long it's going to hold out, so I feel like I'm talking through my nose right now. My apologies, I was going to record an episode today, get it up for you so that it could be there, because this is like the first time I've missed an upload, and I'm not missing it because I'm putting this out, but this is not really a podcast episode. I will talk more when my voice is available about how falling off the wagon of batching has really impeded my podcasting over the last few months, especially with the second podcast, which I did miss an upload for. That should have had an upload this Tuesday, the last episode in the series and I couldn't do it because I've been ill. So I've been ill all last week with a cold and then I lost my voice towards the end of the week and it just still isn't right. So, unfortunately, you know quality over quantity and just removing the thing in my head that says you can't miss an upload, you can't miss an upload I have decided to sort of step back. I didn't want to put out an episode on Tuesday that I wasn't happy with. Equally, I don't want to sit here and do a whole episode because literally I don't know how long my voice would last out, for I've had a couple of calls today and I ended up in a coughing fit on one of the calls. So I don't want to risk that, and I also don't want to risk the quality of my voice degrading and me not really realising because I'm in the moment. So, unfortunately, this is going to be it. I'm just popping in to say I'm OK that I'm still here, that I will be back.
Speaker 1:We have a great episode next week coming with a lady called Sarah who is an expert on using your network to build your audience. We had a great conversation. If you know me well, you'll know that I love networking. I host a Business Women Online networking meeting every month. The next one is on the 18th of June and we have Diane Watson from she Can Prosper, the author of she Can Prosper, coming to talk to us. So I'll put all the links for that in the show notes if you want to come along to that networking meeting. But Sarah has got some great tips. So definitely listen to next week's episode with Sarah to get some great tips. Then come along to my meeting on the 18th of June and put those tips into action. So I hope you have a fantastic week.
Speaker 1:I hope you enjoyed the bank holiday weekend. Obviously I was poorly so I didn't really get to enjoy it much and obviously I think it rained for one day really rained badly so I just stayed in all weekend. So this is me. This is probably the shortest episode I've even ever done, even from like my first episode, but I just wanted to check in with you guys. Let you know that I am okay because I've been a bit silent on social as well, because I've just not had the energy. So everything should be back to normal by next week, fingers crossed. The last episode of Mike Action Podcast, season one, is going to go out next Tuesday, so look out for that as well. I'm also going to be doing a bonus episode for that one as well, so that's coming soon. Anyway, I'm going to stop talking now. I'm going to go and rest my voice and I will speak to you guys in the next one. Bye for now.
